One replaceable quartz element and straightforward on/off operation sit within a 1,565 mm, 316 stainless steel body built with long-term ownership in mind.

More output in a familiar single-element design

The I-40 is the highest-output single-element heater in the Ideal Series. It shares the I-30's body length while increasing rated power from 3,000W to 4,000W. Choose between them by considering exposure, mounting position and the area people occupy, not wattage alone.

At the same total 4,000W output, the ID-40 offers a different arrangement: two elements in a shorter body, with separate switching for half- or full-power operation. The I-40 is the single-element choice when that operating style and its heat footprint suit your patio plan.

Infrared heat warms people and surfaces in its path. Position the heater over or toward the area you actually use. Wind, mounting height and the openness of the space affect comfort and coverage.

Plan your installation

Share the area dimensions, furniture layout, mounting height, number of open sides and a photo. We can help confirm whether the I-40 single-element arrangement or a dual-element option better suits the way you want to use your space. Coverage is a planning estimate, not a guaranteed temperature or a substitute for the installation clearances.

Keep the heater's long axis horizontal. Flush mounting requires the purpose-designed recess kit and a firebox rated for at least one hour. Your electrician must follow the installation manual and local requirements for wiring, protection and clearances. Confirm mounting height with Kelray before installation.

The single element is operated with a suitable on/off switch. Discuss compatible controls and mounting accessories with Kelray and your electrician when planning your system.
