Your patio is the starting point

The long table where dinner turns into another hour of conversation. The sofa tucked into a sheltered corner. The restaurant terrace with a favourite table by the window. Every outdoor space has its own rhythm.

Studio starts there. Set your dimensions in feet or metres, choose a rectangular or L-shaped space, and tell us how sheltered it is. Then make it yours with dining tables, sofas, chairs, BBQs and other patio features. Resize and move things into place, and add doors, windows or a wall-mounted TV to help explain the layout.

You don't need architectural drawings or design experience. A close representation is a useful starting point, and you can refine it as you go.

A floor plan you can step into

Use the 2D view to arrange your space from above. Switch to 3D to look around it and see how the heaters sit above or beside your furniture.

Explore wall or overhead mounting, adjust the mounting height, and see an illustration of how radiant heat spreads away from each heater. Move a heater to try another position, or rotate an overhead heater to suit your layout.

That makes it easier to ask useful questions: Is the dining area the priority? Would a different arrangement suit the lounge? Does the plan feel balanced when you look at the whole patio?

Choose where the warmth matters most

Sometimes you want a little extra warmth around a couple of favourite seats. Sometimes you want a more generous heating plan for a space that gets used all evening.

Studio lets you explore that choice. With seating included in your layout, lighter heating plans prioritise those areas. As you increase the warmth setting, the suggested arrangement broadens its focus across the space. The planner also looks for aligned rows and orderly patterns, so the heaters feel considered as part of the design.

Compare available heater combinations to see how the number of heaters, total output and price change. It's a practical way to explore the trade-offs before deciding what suits your space and budget.

Keep the idea. Share the plan. Take the next step.

Save a design and come back to it. Share your plan with someone helping you choose. When you're ready, follow the product links, add an eligible heater combination to your cart, or send the layout to Kelray for advice.

Whether you're planning a backyard retreat or a restaurant seating area, having a layout to discuss makes the next conversation much more useful.

Make your first plan

  1. Measure the basics. Start with your area's width, depth and intended heater mounting height.
  2. Add the places people gather. Position your main furniture and tell Studio about the shelter and mounting options.
  3. Explore the possibilities. Switch between 2D and 3D, adjust your warmth preference, and compare the suggested combinations.

Studio checks the mounting and clearance rules built into the planner and flags issues to review. The coloured heat zones are an illustration, not a temperature map or a guarantee of comfort; weather, exposure and installation all matter. Your final installation must follow the product's instructions and be confirmed with a qualified installer.
